• Born and bred in Scotland - Prestwick, Stirling and Doune.
• Obtained a Bachelor of Commerce and qualified as a Chartered Accountant of Scotland in Edinburgh.
• Worked in England, Germany, Pakistan, Ghana, Panama and Indonesia before settling in New Zealand in 1982
• Married with two sons
